Vi landet i Lima, hovedstaden i Peru, sent på kvelden. Etter å ha hentet bagasjen skulle vi ta en taxi hotellet. Sjåføren sa at det var mye mange barer og natteliv, så han kjørte oss til et annet hotell. Siden vi ikke hadde bestilt og at det var veldig sent, ble det kjempedyrt for et veldig dårlig hotellrom.
Some highlights from Brazil
We left Buenos Aires in Argentina near 12 o’clock am the 13th of April and landed in Sao Paulo in Brazil at 2 in the morning the next day. No need to say we dived “gracefully” in bed in a nearby hotel after getting our bags and passing the immigration/passport control. In the morning, we went to pick up our rental car and drive directly to Rio de Janeiro.
Some highlights from Argentina
We only had 9 days to experience some of the Argentinian culture and nature so we had to take some shortcuts and decide what we wanted to experience the most. Our choice fell upon travelling across the pampas and visit Mendoza, the famous vine area nearby the Andes mountains and the Chilean border. We were up for some serious kilometres driving by car across the country from Buenos Aires to Mendoza!!! As the language was Spanish and we had heard that not many people spoke English, we looked forward to overcoming some nice challenges…
Higlights from Santiago and Valparaìso
We arrived Santiago in Chile in the afternoon after some hours’ flight from Lima in Peru. Our plan was to visit Valparaiso and some relatives of my sister’s husband before ending up back in the capital for some days.First, we bought a sim-card and some GB for browsing on the internet. Then we picked up our rental car and headed towards Valparaiso. Our GPS (Google Maps) showed us the way and we found both Valparaiso city and our rented apartment easily. What we did not know was that we had been contacted by email by the landlord while we were in the Amazonas in Peru, asking us to confirm our booking. As we were offline the whole time and obviously did not answer that email, the landlord cancelled our booking… So we ended up booking another apartment in Viña del Mar (the neighbour town to Valparaiso) which was a scoop – both the area and the apartment! 😊
Pappa, mamma, Emeric og jeg i California
Vi landet i Los Angeles i California etter å ha flydd i 12 timer fra Auckland i New Zealand. Det var kjedelig! Men det gikk bra fordi at vi var på Qatar Airways sitt fly. Der fikk vi egne skjermer pluss at jeg sov litt og spiste mat. Når vi kom til flyplassen leide vi en bil og kjørte til huset vi hadde leid. Mamma var så trøtt at hun ville kjøpe seg en kaffe på en bensinstasjon vi fylte bensin på. På kaffekranen sto det «hot and fresh» så mamma tok seg en og betalte. Når hun smakte på kaffen smakte den heller mer «old and cold»!! Det gøyeste var når mamma sa fra at den var kald tok mannen opp et skap, vi trodde han skulle kaste den, men nei da, han skulle ta kaffen inn i en mikrobølgeovn for å varme den!!! Vi lo så vi skreik!
Noen blinkskudd fra New Zealand
Først av alt landet vi i Auckland. Det en by på nordøya av New Zealand. Den var ikke særlig fin, men var som andre byer i Europa egentlig.
Vi koser oss i bassenget på hotellet på Bali
Først dro vi fra Filippinene til Bali i Indonesia. Vi dro til et hotell som Bertha og Lina bodde på. Bertha er en dame på mammas keramikk og Lina var barnet hennes. Vi var mye med de to. Emeric og Lina dro ofte og surfet mens vi andre holdt på med yetski. Vi var også masse med Maryann. Maryann er tanten min. Vi gikk turer om morgenen og så viste hun oss andre steder på øya. En annen dag dro vi på stranden og fant en VVVVVEEEEEEEEELLLDIIIIIIG god restaurant med god god laks. Etter det første hotellet dro vi på et hotell som het Aurelia. Maten vi fikk til frokost var kjempegod! Til frokosten fikk vi en croissant, to loffer og et toastet grovbrød pluss litt frukt og yoghurt. Det var bra wifi der :-).
Først dro vi fra Bali i Indonesia til Sydney i Australia. Vi hadde leid oss en bil og kjørte rett til Gold Coast. Det tok ca. 10-11 timer. Vi sov på et hotell. Når det var morgen betalte vi og dro videre for å besøke familie fra pappas side. De het Kaylene og Jim. De hadde 2 hunder og 1 barn som het Lucinda. Hun hadde en mann som het Damon. Den dagen dro vi inn i skogen med Damon, Lucinda og Kaylene. Lucinda sa at hvis man så en slange skulle man gå forsiktig bort, eller som hun sa det, “leave them alone”. Vi så på mange fine blomster og en nydelig utsikt.
Some highlights from Peru
Our next adventure was Peru and the land of the Incas. We hoped to get some nice experiences from Machu Picchu and the Amazonas… and we were not let down! What an incredibly interesting, beautiful and exciting trip we had!!! 🙂
There is no need to book hotels or apartments early as long as there is not high season. Study where you go and you may book early if free cancelation, then you are free to change and get the best deal. Most cases we have bad experience with early bookings and great experience with bookings close up to the visit.
